Stump Pass Beach
Is a state recreation area, for those who want the privacy of a more secluded beach, and is located just south of Englewood Beach at the end of the road. It has limited free parking.
Boca Grande Beach
Boca Grande is a public beach and can be reached along State Road 771 a toll of $3.20 for a car is required. You will drive along a road surrounded on both sides by light-green water and white sand. The public beach, which is
comparable to Caribbean beaches, features three lighthouses and large shade trees near shore. The beach offers full facilities, including freshwater showers, picnic tables and grills. There are no lifeguards on duty.
The beach closes at dusk. The town of Boca Grande has several quaint shops, an ice cream parlour and restaurants.
Don Pedro Island State Recreational Area Is a barrier island park with approximately 1 mile of white sandy beaches on the Gulf of
Mexico that is accessible only by boat. Boat docks are located on the bay side via a channel from the Intracoastal Waterway at green marker #35. Amenities include: Picnic Pavilion, Tables, Grills, Outdoor Showers,
Restrooms, Sunbathing, and Fishing. Park fee: $2 per boat. |
